So one of the "perks" of living with me is that when I get the remote - you sometimes get to watch design shows. On one such occurrence KTL saw a bed frame that he liked and I knew I could make. One, because I knew it would reunite me with a love that I haven't used since I moved to Brooklyn:

We started out with this:

And on the first day that I could open the garage door and not freeze I brought the boards and stain together (and was thankful that we have garbage cans tall enough to sub for sawhorses!)

After all the stain was dry we added a stripe using this bonus oops paint that KTL saw in the store one day:
Since the boards weren't the same height KTL had the bright idea of turning them over so the strip would be (sorta) straight.
And wha-la - the finished product! (he's very happy)
