Normally on my drive home from work I listen to Dave Ramsey for awhile (we get cut off by the news). But with the start of 2011 the radio station cut his show. It's surprising that in the midst of everything that is going on in the economy folks aren't listening to him - but maybe it's just the time slot. But I've been inspired to set some financial goals for 2011. I always do really well with big goals, but not so great with little ones.
- Biggest goal is that I'm going to try to pay off my car (bought new February 2010) AND my student loans. This is gonna be a big stretch for me. Those two bills equal close to 1/2 of my salary. But I have a plan and I think it's doable!
- Save for a new couch for our house. We have a futon and a very used couch. Hopefully this goal gets easier by finding one at a yard sale ;-)
- Save enough money to fly/drive home at least 3 times this year.
Not a ton of financial goals - but that's because the first one is going to take the most work. Anyone else setting financial goals for 2011?
